So, a GM and Manager who have won a world series only got suspended for one year, then they got fired so they're out of their deals, and they aren't subject to the modest 5 million dollar team fines or the draft pick losses now.
Who got punished? These guys get a 1 year vacation and then they can go manage some northeast team that only gets hand slaps for similar cheating for millions a year.
Oh man 4 draft picks, how will they ever manage with these penalties.....
Yeah, this is not SMU folks, nothing to see here.
They didn't lose any international slot money as far as I can tell, and there's no salary cap. This is the equivalent of 2 weeks of detention.

Yeah, and Hinch probably makes at least a couple million a year (his salary was $1.2 million before signing an extension a couple years ago) and he forfeits that salary this year. That has to hurt.
Those draft pick penalties are huge, too. Teams have become more and more limited in how they can add amateur talent in recent years, and losing their first and second round picks means they're missing out on something like 60-70% of the available draft money the next two years.
They’re gonna just use this as more motivation next year to GET THE W FOR TAUBMAN!!!!

The Seattle Times ran a facebook headline about this describing the Stros as the Mariners’ AL West “rival” and I’m just thinking the Stros would have to know the Mariners even exist before considering us a rival.
