I haven't given enough thought about facebook and what government controls should be put in place, but the question that comes up for me is always the same: if the government has to force facebook to control what is on their platform because of dishonesty, do they have to start putting controls on conservative media (Fox News, OAN, etc.)? What is the difference?

Are we sure we want government policing of social media?

I don't think we do. I am surprised how seemingly mainstream that notion appears to be.

My point is what is the difference between misinformation on social media and the stuff that people like Lou Dobbs or Sean Hannity say everyday?

So uh, is anyone going to learn anything from this other than don't rely on google or apple or AWS if you want to do anything vaguely controversial?

I think Twitter accounts bans should count as death in the death pool, and seeing as how he's still 69, I get bonus points!

Oh, I thought we were gearing up to leash the power of these social media companies by expanding government oversight and authority. Now I’m conflicted.

i must be careful because burt is trying to foil our plan - but the ruling class parties have united. the swamp is boggier than ever. now it's time to expand government oversight and authority by limiting free speech. but just to spite burt
