None when it comes to the vocals. All of the sprucing up was done during mixing, and all things considered, it wasn't all that much. Listen to the Devonshire Mixes to hear what the recordings sounded like untouched.

It's been fun re-visiting the uncontrolled chaos of In Utero with this set. I haven't really been listening to Nirvana for a few years, but very quickly I was transported back to 1993 and I remember that trip to the record store after school to buy In Utero the day it came out. As a grunge-lovin' 16-year-old it pretty much blew me away then, as it did again with this reissue. While nothing drastic changed on the remaster, I really appreciate the 2013 mix and the chance to experience the songs with a slightly different airy-ness about them.

Side-note... Frances Farmer just may be the apex of grunge songwriting. It's a perfect blend of quiet/heavy, slightly off the rails at one point, without losing the great melodic hook.

For a long time I thought that Frances was the best song on this album. Some days I still do.

I think the box only contained Albini's remaster of his 1993 mix, didn't it?

It's the same at the first 12 tracks of Disc 2 of the 20th Anniversary edition - a new remix by Albini (with input from Dave and Krist) with some alternate guitar solos etc

Yeah, the vinyl set didn't include the 2014 Albini Remix. Just the remaster and the b-sides.

The 2014 mix is great.

20 years ago, Nirvana began their European tour, their last. Night one was in Cascais, Portugal:

Setlist:
1. Radio Friendly Unit Shifter
2. Drain You
3. Breed
4. Serve the Servants
5. Come as You Are
6. Smells Like Teen Spirit
7. Sliver
8. Dumb
9. In Bloom
10. About a Girl
11. Lithium
12. Pennyroyal Tea
13. School
14. Polly
15. Very Ape
16. Sappy
17. Rape Me
18. Territorial Pissings

Encore:
19. Jesus Doesn't Want Me for a Sunbeam
20. The Man Who Sold the World
21. All Apologies
22. On a Plain
23. Scentless Apprentice
24. Heart-Shaped Box
25. Blew

I'm going to listen to the very shitty full audience recording later tonight.

Blew is such a good way to end a show.

Which is why this was their standard set or show closer from early 1988 all the way to this show, which was the last time they ever closed with it. After this show they played it twice, both times immediately before "Heart-Shaped Box" (2/24 and 3/01/1994).
