holy shit, the horror elements at the start of Yellowjackets were the biggest dangling carrot; I'm bored as fuck

I'm 4 or 5 episodes down, I was fooled into thinking it leaned harder into horror than it does

it will get more supernatural and fucked up. And there is a very cool episode near the end in the forest.

But its not Evil Dead or something.

I don't mind a slow burn, I'm not really an Evil Dead person; I just think it's tonally off-balance a bit; I will keep going

with all The Batman talk I decided I should watch Reeves' "Let Me In" (though I think I'll still end up preferring LTROI); pretty cool that Giacchino is involved, lots of seeds for the Bats aesthetic in here so far

Fresh.

Very fun. Great cast and it was good to see Sebastian Stan having so much fun.

finally watched "Lamb"

an excellent fable / allegory about trying to find the thing you've lost and are grieving in the mundane particulars of your current life

I don't think I've seen anything by Ti West, but I can't wait to see "X". It's getting great reviews, too.

Yes, house is one of the best horror movies of the 00’s and innkeepers was a good surprise to randomly stumble upon on Netflix

I saw the new movie X in the theatre today. It's good. It's really very good looking and starts off really well. I found the last third or so, when the horror really gets going, to be a bit boring, but that may be my own failing.
It has elements of 70s grindhouse stuff, but doesn't quite commit to it as much as something like Death Proof did. I think a little more of that would have been a good thing, but, again, maybe that's just me

I think I'll take myself to the cinema to watch "You Won't Be Alone" next month

ironically, I will be alone

im dying to see X and im actually happy if the movie restrains itself from that grindhouse element DP had.

I thought it looked awesome too. The slow burn build-up was very effective.

I like how horror movies like this don't do a lot of explaining, just throw you into a situation and let you fill in the blanks.
