Belichick had to find someone to replace Al Davis in this department.

That dropped interception by Goldson was an easy pick six and the game winner. Gonna be one of those seasons I guess.

I think the future is bright for the Bucs because Lovie Smith is a proven winning coach. But I think they bungled the QB position and perhaps one year of pain to secure a good one in the 2015 draft may not be the end of the world.

I never understood signing McCown and anointing him the starter immediately, if at all. I thought Glennon was pretty decent as the season went on last year - especially for a rookie. I figured if they added a couple of weapons, he would get even better. I watched a lot of the game yesterday, McCown was just awful.

Mostly a bad offensive line, though he hurt his knee yesterday also

Definitely should have been a full on competition in camp and pre season but i don't think they really want glennon, and no one would give them enough for him before the draft.

If they don't want Glennon (and I think you're right), they should have drafted a QB in the first round. Banking on McCown was always going to be a very short term solution.

I really think they wanted bortles, i think they talked up manzel and the tedford/Carr connection hoping they would go early and bortles would be there for them. But at the same time, they had so many needs that they couldn't address them all so maybe they just hoped mccown would be good(and he could still be good enough to win enough games to miss out on a really high draft pick) and give them a couple of years to find the new franchises qb

i didnt even get to see the game and i agree, but also it has to be said that tampa had the lead with about 4 minutes left and the rams starting on their own 8 and the D let a 3rd string QB drive down for a chip shot FG for the win

I get that, but McCown looks like a backup QB that is getting his first start in five years. Evans and Jackson are making some great catches, but if they had someone who could make quicker decisions they would be nasty.

im with you on that, i hated the McCown signing because the need to see what they have in Glennon, the kid played well enough last year to have gone into camp as the starter this year, but unfortunatly he played for another coach so that doesnt mean much now. but if they stink it up all season then they HAVE to draft a QB at the top of the draft next year unless they know they have someone to be the starter for 5 to 10 years and they wont know that if Glennon stays on the bench.
i love that Lovie is in Tampa but he needs to swallow his pride and call the McCown experiment over and use the season to see whats good and whats not on this Rebuilding team.
im not sure if i mentioned it in here but ive said it a lot this off season, the Hype this team was getting was scary, just because the cheifs had the big turn around last season didnt mean tampa was gonna do the same, the team was in BAD shape and though they have some nice pieces they still have a couple more seasons till they will be fully turned around

I hate it that they have two top tier receivers and crap for a qb.

I kinda agree with you as I was in the Glennon camp before he was even drafted. However, I don't think Evans is top tier just yet. He has the potential to be, for sure.
