The question is just gonna be who's directing. Well, that and also, will the story resemble (even a little bit) the script/idea that attracted Daisy back to the role in the first place?

But I'm not sure if it'll be the next one after Mandalorian & Grogu. I'd like it to be. And I think it could be really cool if it was ready for a May 2027 release, to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of Star Wars. But that feels less likely.

Absolutely. She's hugely popular. Maybe the only thing a lot of people like about the ST.

You can decide that Twitter is reality and your perception is all that matters. I mean, obviously, you can. You do it every single day.

But facts are facts. And no meme changes that.

Rey is popular of course, Disney also pushed her a lot in their parks, so I’m sure the character will drawn attention with a new “skywalker saga”.

I’m still thinking about whatever they truly have something with the new movie or trilogy or is just a desperate move to try to build a SW movie again.

So far seems the movie won’t happen for a long while.

Just so folks who aren't up on the current news know what's going on... there's a lot to unpack here.

1. Rey is actually a very popular character, regardless of what the 40/50 year old dudes here think. It's actually true.

2. A new Rey movie (as Disney/Lucasfilm has said) will not be an extension of "The Skywalker Saga." It's not gonna be episode 10. Obviously, it's connected but that's not what the point of this movie would be.

3. Kinberg is working on a new trilogy. We still don't know of Rey will feature in that. But, as of right now, it's different than the stand along Rey movie. That may change.

4. I fully believe the movie (the Rey movie) will happen. But I fear the current director will not be attached. I worry that Kinberg is gonna ape it and weave it into his trilogy.

5. I really hope Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy gets to make her Rey movie.

I just want to say, I have no problem with Rey, but no way she cracks the Top Ten no matter who you survey.
