I have a Firestone Walker Sucaba sitting in my basement that I completely forgot I bought about 2 months ago. Talk about being pleasantly surprised when going through a beer stash.

You non-Tasmanians don't know what you're missing.

The Founder's tasting was pretty awesome. Came away with a nice hangover and two free Founders goblets. All the beers were incredible, as expected, except for the Doom IIPA which I think is the double trouble but bourbon barrel aged. The double trouble was pretty awesome though.

I'm curious as to what you thought was bad about the Doom. That was their limited release that they just released last week, and they tried to generate a lot of hype with it, even going so far as to sell tickets for brewery pick up only.

I thought a lot of the Hop nose and flavor was killed by the bourbon barrel aging and that's what most people look for in a DIPA.
I also thought the alcohol was right up front and center and threw everything out of balance a bit. Maybe too much time in the barrels? It wasn't awful or anything but just not for me.

drinking this right now. great, great balance. not a hop bomb, might have the most assertive malt profile of any IPA i've ever had.

recommend this brewery (deschutes). had four of their offerings, all are very good.

Finally finished up the Sam's "Hopology" 12 pack last night.

I gotta admit, this was pretty solid, and I'd get it again (I'm normally disappointed with Sam Adams and really have only been impressed with their Boston Ale).

I think I said it before but I'll say it again, I really like the Latitude 48.

Well I have a 6 pack of this in the fridge and it's nearing its expiration so I figure I might as well drink it up even if I'm not that crazy about it. At least it's a 9 per-center so I won't give a fuck if I like it or not after I finish the first one.

Drinking some Imperial White by Samuel Adams. Really smooth for a 10% brew. Just can't get past the wheat though.

I've never had it, my Dad is here though and I asked him and he said he liked it.

I didn't finish off the Tommyknocker last night, drank 3 and was pretty drunk. No real hangover though. Guess I'll finish up the other 3 tonight. Good riddance.

You know what man? I don't even remember the last time I had a Guinness. I think it was one in 22oz can with the shaker in it...maybe 6 years ago or so.
