Felt like ass all day. Hit the track and things didn't really improve. Kinda sucked to break the string of great runs on the indoor track. Did manage a decent kick the last 5 miles. Ugh.
I compromised with my wife and agreed to run just 5 miles (or 40 minutes on the indoor track) a day for the next week in an effort to kick this stupid fucking cough.
Streak: 40

You're kicking ass there t2b.
Have you tried using a vaporizer at night? It might help clear out the last of the gunk causing the cough.
I have been using a vaporizer every night in my room.
Hopefully this round of antibiotics will knock out the pneumonia, so we can then treat the Valley Fever.

5 miles in 33 minutes
Ran after dropping the kids off for school. I actually got 5 hours of sleep last night and felt pretty great. Out in 17. Back in 16. I really hate the idea of not running more than 5 miles a day this weekend as it is suppose to be 70 and sunny all weekend long. May be able to talk my wife into letting me take my son for a hike.

Doc's calling it walking pneumonia with the possibility of him upgrading it to "chronic" pneumonia, which is kinda common with bad cases of Valley Fever.

12 miles in 84 minutes
Well the "only 5 miles" thing didn't last long. The family and I went to a park for a picnic and fun in the sun. Just an insanely beautiful 70 degree day. The wife rode her bike with the baby in our new front-mounted child seat, the two older kids rode their bikes and I ran. My son has a hard time going fast, so I figured the 6 miles there would take 45 minutes or so. It only took 40. Coming back wasn't as fast because the baby got fussy toward the end and we had to stop a couple of times. 44 back. Goddamn I love AZ winters.

This week blew.
Monday: That run I was looking forward to... well I decided to run after shoveling when I got home, my ankles never bothered be in my life 5K on the treadmill with them on fire.
Tuesday: Shit ass day of work that actually fueled a better Upper Body Workout A but had to cut it short due to an evening meeting.
Wednesday: More snow all day which meant a bunch more shoveling and walking on ice with another evening meeting, two and a half mile jog.
Thursday: Stuck to core and stretching, feeling pretty beat from the workday.
Friday: Supersets.
Saturday: Supposed to be a long run but had to visit family, got out for a few miles of snowshoeing which actually felt great. Got home at 10pm and did another 2.5 on the treadmill, then passed out.
Today: Solid Upper Body Workout B, getting out in the fresh air really helped salvage a week that I felt equivalent to falling off the wagon.

I hear ya.
After running with pneumonia for the first month or so, I figure the rest of this streak is gonna be a breeze. Although we'll see how I'm doing in mid-July when I'm running in 120 degree heat.

10k trail run today. 25F and I have to admit that running in cold weather is way better than biking in the cold. Good swim in yesterday.

7.5 miles with 2,400 feet in elevation change in 65 minutes
Phone said 80 degrees at the trailhead. Felt good, but didn't push it. Things cooled off in the shade of backside of the mountain. Trail was packed again. Even split. No sprint finish. Kinda half-assed this one.

Canal was packed with snowbirds. Even split. Quarter-mile finishing kick. Got a late start and was 10 minutes late for a work meeting.

I'm afraid that wouldn't be much of a contest. Since my vasectomy, it takes a good 15 minutes for me to unsheathe my sword.

Monday: Supersets due to time.
Today: 7.5 miles on the treadmill. Had the gumption to do more especially after the apprehension around my ankle faded within a few miles but felt it better to hold off and hopefully have some better runs this week.

Indoor track. Another good one. Felt like I could run forever. Track got pretty busy at times, but I kinda enjoyed weaving in and out of people. I didn't feel like punching anyone. I must be mellowing out in my old age.

5 miles in 34 minutes
Ran at 6 a.m. Saw an unusual number of runners, which is especially strange since the P.F. Chang's marathon has already passed. Even split. Quarter-mile finishing kick. Warm morning. The overnight lows are creeping into the 50s already. I guess our "winter" is already over.
Gonna do the brutal run up to the TV Towers on South Mountain this weekend. Looking forward to some pain.
