They went all Rod Steward on us.
This is what I've been saying for years.
'Pearl jam didn't meet my personal list of demands for their new songs so therefore they suck and this is the worst song ever'
Go hug your mom and get over it. Or at least try grow the fuck up a bit.

It's OK, I was 15. But if it is from a director that I like and respect, and I wasn't sure what I thought the first time I'll wait a while and multiple views to make sure more doesn't reveal itself.
I've made my mind up now though. This band jumped the shark back in 2006 and they are now 3 records into their extremely steep decline. I will not pay £100 to see them play Sirens, The Fixer, Come Back, Johnny Guitar, WWS and Mind Your Manners whilst Insignificance, Can't Keep, Faithful, Greivance, You Are and other tracks of that ilk are forgotten relics of a bygone era.
I really wish the bastards toured Europe in 2003, when their live shows were at their peak.
I've seen multiple Pj shows in multiple tours and 2003 is without doubt bottom of the pile.
Just an FYI.

I find it cute that Lounge Lizard listened to PJ to feel young

Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
It is a beautifully written song from front to back. With all the tracks so far these guys sound appropriate. They don't sound like they are trying to be something they shouldn't be or can't be. They sound competent , confident and committed to the songs.
This song sounds like a modern radio song drawing influences ranging from the 80's through the early 2000's.

Stick some weird alternative shit on this album and I think we have an absolute corker.
But I want something dark and weird, I really do.

Re: New Song (9.19.13): Sirens
I love this part
"It's a fragile thing, this life we lead.
If I think too much, I can't get over.
Wound by the graves by which we live
our lives with death over our shoulders.
Want you to know that should I go,
I always loved you, held you high above too.
I study your face, and the fear goes away.
The fear goes away.
The fear goes away.
The fear goes away."
I get some pretty intense panic attacks and when I just go sit with my kids and appreciate the hell out of them "the fear goes away".

Screw this. I'm going to listen to some decent 1980's music [read: Billy Ocean] to clear my ears.
