I love when the thread is just spoilers.
I thought there was some really beautiful shots in this episode (the overhead shot of Melissandre's ship in Blackwater Bay being chief among them).broken iris wrote:That may have been the worst episode of the series. Bad directing, awful editing, and waaaaaaay to much dialogue. Was Martin getting paid by the word?

Fantastic episode. Over way too soon. That hour flew by.
As far as the Theon stuff goes, I thought the nudity had a huge impact on the scene. For the first time the nudity felt extremely important. And, to my memory, there was no exposition in the scene. It was all part of the torture. This felt very different to me than the alleged "sexposition" from earlier seasons. That shit was necessary and painful to watch.broken iris wrote:durdencommatyler wrote:Yep.Monkey_Driven wrote:I thought there was some really beautiful shots in this episode (the overhead shot of Melissandre's ship in Blackwater Bay being chief among them).broken iris wrote:That may have been the worst episode of the series. Interesting you guys felt that way. IMHO, it was all yacking and nudity, almost like they were mocking that whole 'sexposition" thing.

She way over-acts the part sometimes. She's got a perfect look and expressions for it, but delivery is often more Disney Witch than it should be. She is her best when she is cold and calm, not the whole "this is your father's house" style.Mecca wrote:Melisandre pronounces "Baratheon" in a way to doesn't hit the ear correctly. I loved the scenes between her and Thoros of Myr, though.broken iris wrote:She way over-acts the part sometimes. tywin walking up the stairs and asking that dipshit if he wants to be carried is a top ten moment on this show for me.hbk wrote:Tywin and Joffrey...great scene!
I hate Joffrey so much. I find any time anyone is in opposition of Joffrey, it makes me like that person more. Doesn't matter who they are. Even Cersei is likable when she's talking down to/insulting/reprimanding that little shit.AndySlash wrote:tywin walking up the stairs and asking that dipshit if he wants to be carried is a top ten moment on this show for me.hbk wrote:Tywin and Joffrey...great scene!

If you're giving Joffrey the business, you're alright in my book.
