DnD is great. I got my daughter hooked on it and hopefully we can get some games in. We bought the 5e books and will restart the adventure that came with one of the starter sets.

Board games are such a blast, don't you think? There's just something so heartwarming about gathering around a table with friends or family and diving into a game. Personally, I'm a huge fan of games that bring people together and spark laughter and friendly competition. X, for instance, is a classic card game that never fails to entertain. It's simple yet strategic, and it always guarantees a good time. What about you? What's your favorite board game?

Total gamechanger. On our fourth puzzle, generally chipping away at it while I finish my coffee, or my wife and daughter will do some work while I make dinner. The drawers are key, because you can separate out similar pieces. Looking at my phone less too. Real lifestyle change.
Oh that's nice, to keep everything together and easily moved when needed.

yeah we had company this weekend and just moved it into the other room when it was time to eat; then brought it out once the kids were in bed and we were drinking and chatting.
That's probably what stops us from doing our puzzles. Having to move it if we aren't finished yet.

Also, since this thread was bumped, I've taken an interest in Magic the Gathering the past 2 -3 months and play every once in awhile with my daughter.

Never been a Magic guy, but that's great. How old is your daughter?

Ours is five so the games are stilly fairly rudimentary, but a 500-piece jigsaw puzzle is a nice bridge to something we can both enjoy.
My daughter is 19. We also play chess sometimes.

I would think a puzzle is a great way for a 5 yr old to use her brain and get to do stuff with mom and dad.

When my daughter was around that age, she loved this game: https://www.amazon.com/Ladybug-Great-Fi ... B0008ELWYG

Winter is board game season. We've been playing a game or two of Shifting Stones every night the past two weeks.

Yeah it seems the time of year we get the games out the most. Also, Shifting Stones looks cool!

Gamewright's Forbidden Island/Desert/etc are fun co-op games too.

Pedro (pronounced Pee-dro) is one of the best card games. It was reportedly invented in Peru. In the 50’s/60’s it became a staple in SF’s North Beach district. Anyone play? Closest games I can compare it to are Hearts and Bridge.
