Put The Hard Aches album up there too - I honestly can't stop playing it.

Ditto the new Thigh Master seven inch, that Ausmuteants/Housewives split single, and the new Sewers LP. Also, a new Royal Headache full length is coming later in the summer.

A little late responding, but this is slowly becoming a favorite of mine too. At first the songwriting feels a little undercooked, but one by one the songs work their hooks in. One of those albums that's great to just crank up and revel in its destruction of your ears and speakers.

This is from the Sleaford Mods upcoming release Key Markets.
I loooove the bassline on this, and I've always had a thing about...basic...singers.
Face to Faces. Ignore the vid, it's just a fan made somethingy.

Hmm, I've been finding I really like female fronted punk/indie rock. Will have to give this a listen.

Oh yeah. My experience with that album was pretty much the same. At first it seemed kinda samey throughout to me but with a few more listens the hooks revealed themselves and now they won't leave my head and I don't want them too. High energy and great hooks for 40 minutes.

You really should. Frances singing needed some getting used to for me but now I love it.
I just noticed how female fronted bands/female solo artists dominate my favorite albums this year. Natalia Lafourcade, Marina and the Diamonds, Waxahatchee, Courtney Barnett, Hop Along, Björk, Beach House, Torres, Sleater-Kinney. Pretty great year overall, too.

If you like the lady fronted groups, check out Vexx. They put out one of my favorite singles this year.
Free download too for you tightwads.

I just streamed the Tame Impala record and I'm not feeling it. There's certainly nothing bad about it. It's pleasant enough. Just didn't really grab me. *shrugs*
I'll give it another go in a few weeks and see what happens.

Piss Crowns Are Trebled from GYBE might be my favorite song of the year. The whole album is pretty good.

Thanks for this news...
Just listened to BH, and it's so nice (as expected)... Upon first spin, it's not as dynamic as Bloom, but I'm sure it'll age nicely throughout the rest of the year.
Never heard Destroyer, but I have it and will spin it shortly...
