Cool to hear there's more new music coming down the line
I love the honesty here:
What made you want to tour with just yourself and a guitar player for this Imitations release? As opposed to a full-band kind of thing?
The record company wanted me to support my record in the States. And the US is a place where I don't do nearly as well as I do in the rest of the world. So to debut a new record, would I choose to just go out with one guitar player? No. But that's the way I can make money. And I don't do music to break even, or any of that kind of shit—I'm too old for it. That's why I'm doing it like this.

But expensive.
As usual this is going to take forever to reach these shores. I see it has leaked - has anyone come across a 'preview' anywhere?

Mark Lanegan sounds stressful to interview. And hang out with.

Seriously dude. Shepard and Lanegan? Possibly around the Scraps era?

I haven't listened to it in a while. Mescalito is amazing and a few other songs were decent but it is another one I mostly pass on.
The two soulsavers and first Campbell record are the only side projects I love start to finish

Thank You
I left the levee straightaway
But it don't cease its weak complaining
I've been crawling through disease
And all I know is it keeps raining
I see the dead unsteady walking
Hear the radio keep talking
The world on fire
A jubilee
Because the carnival is toxic
Now to go down into the night
With darkness all that I require
I'm a fallen satellite
No hand of god can lift me higher
I thank you baby
Baby please
Thank you for the times we're living
I will fall down to my knees
And I'll be closer then to heaven
You ever seen it rain so hard
That you know the sky is bleeding?
No redemption in the cards
Not only love can break your heart
Believe it
Not only love can break your heart
Believe it
Y'all are crazy for not loving the shit out of this tune.

Black Pudding was definitely a grower, there's still a few songs that I tend to skip but the good ones are pretty heavy. Mescalito and Death Rides A White Horse are ace.

Not yet, USPS says mine should be delivered today though so I'm hoping to see a nice big ass box at my door when I get home tonight. I've read from others who've received theirs that the packaging is quite nice--sounds like a quality collectible if you're a big fan.
