lake geneva's the most expensive place to stay within a 100 mile radius of there
thank god for that, actuallyBirds in Hell wrote:weird setlists and odd choices of special guests. The whole exercise came across as being quite haphazard and not well thought through.

Maybe if they played their hometown more than once every five years they'd have a larger fanbase there these days.spike wrote:i was surprised the shows weren't in seattle myself, but it's known that the band hasn't been very enamored with the hometown crowds these days, and it's also known that alpine is a favorite of the band's. also, i think they realized that hotels in the area would be more reasonable than in a major city, and again, it's only a 1.5-2 hour drive from chicago/o'hare (one of the largest airports in the country). it made more sense than you realize.

Good points, spike, it makes more sense to me now. I am not bashing Wisconsin, but I agree with Spenno, the gorge would of made more sense. I went to montreal instead because I also felt PJ20 would be a disaster.spike wrote:i was surprised the shows weren't in seattle myself, but it's known that the band hasn't been very enamored with the hometown crowds these days, and it's also known that alpine is a favorite of the band's. also, i think they realized that hotels in the area would be more reasonable than in a major city, and again, it's only a 1.5-2 hour drive from chicago/o'hare (one of the largest airports in the country). it made more sense than you realize.

Gorge is super cool, and yes middle of nowhere. I've enjoyed it less as I've gotten older because camping there is really uncomfortable and annoying. But it's a bucket list thing for sure.lowlight79 wrote:Good points, spike, it makes more sense to me now. I am not bashing Wisconsin, but I agree with Spenno, the gorge would of made more sense. My biggest complaint was they should of just done an American Tour. Or not done a whole PJ20 hoopla. I hope they do make up for it this year. I would travel to Washington State in a heartbeat as I have never been there. How would the gorge compare to alpine valley in nicest venues? I heard the gorge is pretty much in the middle of nowhere though.
when the tour wasn't announced when expected, it was rumored it was pushed back due to them doing BonnarooBirds in Hell wrote:Bonnaroo being hotly tipped over on the official forum, Nashville show nixed.
That's what I've seen posted elsewhere too.Simple Torture wrote:Was there an NYC in early May rumor? A friend of mine who works for Spotify in Manhattan said he's heard of 5/1 and 5/2 shows at MSG.
