From the looks of the first couple of headlining sets, the amount of Crowes covers is going to be much less and this is very much a band trying to forge their own identity...if the album has indeed leaked I"ll have to see if I can find it tonight

The album is great, though I do wish the last 1/3 had something a little more uptempo in there somewhere

Ugh. Magpie salute album is fine but it really just makes me yearn for Chris to be back in the mix. He is so light years ahead of anyone else that could sing over Rich's songwriting.
Its lacking in melody and lyrics that really make the crowes a cut above the rest

Yeah as much as I like the album it'd be way cooler with Chris singing

Though I don't dislike it, I haven't found myself going back to it very often.

Rumors in high gear of a cash grab reunion tour next year with no Gorman, no Ford, no Sven, no Oven Mitts (thank Christ, the one bright spot to this news) and a bunch of hired hands
Rumors also that Ford is out of Magpie, though that seems to be a lot more up in the air/questionable

in terms of actual real TBC members, that's the rumor...of course, things could change at the drop of a hat and do with CR and RR regularly

Count me as one Black Crowes fan who would have zero interest in that. This band’s fans deserve better.

Would this be a repeat of Birds of a Feather, an acoustic tour? Or an electric version of Birds of a Feather?

It's not the Crowes without Gorman.

Speaking of Gorman...

Hard to Handle: The Life and Death of the Black Crowes--A Memoir
An insider biography of the Black Crowes by drummer and cofounder Steve Gorman.
The Black Crowes played big, Southern rock and became popular precisely while hair bands and grunge were rebelling against it. They stayed on the radio through hip-hop's rise to the mainstream and dominated the charts no matter what the tastes of the day might have been. They've sold 35 million albums and they continued to tour up until they finally had enough of each other in 2013. Even then, more than twenty years after Rolling Stone named them the Best New American Band in a 1990 cover story, they drew thousands of fans across the country at over 120 nearly sold-out dates on what ended up being their final tour.
That last tour was so successful that they planned to do a bigger, truly final 25th anniversary tour in 2015. Unfortunately, the animosity between the three founding members didn't allow that to happen. Instead, they reverted to their old habits of fighting, blaming each other, drinking too much, and indulging all the other demons that the music industry seems to feed upon. While Steve Gorman may have felt relief at not having to head back out on the road, he did feel bad for the band's fans. He felt he owed them one final show. This book is that final show.

Definitely want to read that but it might fucking depress me.
The last shows i saw with them and jackie greene on guitar were actually some of my favorite crowes show.
And they were more than "Southern Rock"....just pure fucking rock n roll.
Maybe one day they will grow up.

Didn't Chris Robinson brotherhood just break up? Poor Neal Casal needs to play guitar for a stable singer for a change.
