I have gone through phases where I enjoy this band or alternately can’t stand them. Not sure why that keeps happening. I do think their first two albums and Wasting Light are really fantastic. The rest has a couple of good songs each and a bunch of filler that all sounds the same to me.

I enjoy the theory behind them just rocking out and soaking it all in, but their stage show, while good once, now is a ham fest. To me they sound like a reverential cover band of themselves.

yeah, they really went from something i liked to something i just cant watch or hear. Their live show is...horrendous these days. I mostly blame the success they had with Wasting Light. Thats the last true good album from the band, and from then on its just bland and boring.

Also Dave become a parody of itself. The good guy of rock.

Guys... There Is Nothing Left to Lose was the last good album, and it was only half good.

You just named two of my favorite tunes by them. Well, 3 counting Everlong

I've never heard Butterflies before. I love the songs from that era.

****weird I've never had an issue posting a youtube video. Obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I have the same problem. The NBA thread would be awesome if I could actually embed stuff.

Is there a master list somewhere of instructions that actually work?

This is still the greatest roast of all time.
Haha... my dad loves the Foo Fighters too. His favorite song is "Learn to Fly"

the previous video was missing the ? in the URL because bada tried to post a specific time to jump to - note the t=225s - and the board doesn't support that. so just copy and paste the url from the address bar and delete anything that is after the video ID up to and including the & sign.

also holy fuck at Dave wearing a Wool shirt. that was a damn fine band, wish it were easier to find their stuff.

First three albums are truly great, and 2011’s Wasting Light was a good addition to the catalog. Every other album sucks and their band persona is vapid, so...?
This is the exact correct take
Honestly i'd limit it to the first two albums being great. Third one was pretty ok...beyond that i've probably liked 2-3 songs on each album up until (and including) Wasting Light. Nothing off the last two has caught my attention.

I love There Is Nothing Left to Lose, but a lot of that is surely nostalgia. Only self-titled and The Color and the Shape are essential.

Dave seems like a decent dude, but trag is right about their persona.
