Blue is the Warmest Color.
A three hour talky, relationship based foriegn film? I liked it though with two scenes in particular really standing out: Adele & Emma first real meeting in a bar & the next to last scene between them in a restaurant. I particularly loved the way the first one was lit. They each have a dinner at the other's parents and it's interesing the way the two scenes compare & contrast. Various shades of blue pop up throughout and there's a couple Picasso references which even I picked up on. For a film about a young woman's sexual awakening her true sexuality is left unresolved.
No doubt there's plenty of stuff I didn't pick up on my initial viewing; I'd probably watch it again at some point.

You remember all those shitty movies Bruce Willis made between Die Hard and Pulp Fiction? where he is all dark and mopey? I'm watching one of them. He's a boat cop in this one.

I liked Noah a lot.

I don't know what some of the religiously devoted were complaining about, especially the Catholics. I thought Aronofsky, a confirmed atheist, gave a thoughtful & devoted interpretation of the biblical text.

Of course he took the liberty of embellishing parts of the story, but that's to be expected, especially given the nature of the story. Father Robert Barron describes my thoughts well on the issue:

I love Crowe getting drunk on the beach with his freshly made wine. That looked like a fun time.

Django unchained

I enjoyed it. Christopher Waltz, especially. His voice reminds me of John Malkovich. The lynch mob bitching about their eye holes cracked me up. I do tire of Tarantino's style, though.
