I loved how sincere this movie was.
I can see that. About halfway through, and it’s very straightforward, and yet engaging.

Was a solid three star movie. Delivered the tension, action and drama I wanted.

Triangle of Sadness was very good. Not the greatest movie of the last 20 years, Sean Baker, but very funny. The biggest laughs are scatological. Maybe the funniest scatological humor since Jackass. I think images from The Square might stick with me longer. I think maybe it covers similar ideas, and maybe in a more interesting way? Less elemental, though. Yeah, it's a good movie.

Tossed together haphazardly, amateurish beyond belief (even more so than the first one, at least in writing), CHEAP and ridiculously saccharine in its emotional beats, no rhyme or reason to it. Treacly, in a very cynical way. Just trash, his worst film yet. And I am watching it again in St Louis because my friend bought tickets to his screening/Q&A roadshow.
As mentioned, I went to the screening/Q&A in St Louis last night. The movie is still really horrible (the more I think about Dante's arc the angrier I get), but Kevin Smith later came out and gave a detailed summary of the original Clerks 3 script that they were supposed to make a few years ago and was canceled. It's a much darker and more interesting story that got kind of avant garde, though it still has some cringy aspects (it folded in Hurricane Sandy and the Aurora shooting into the plot).
Also this morning as we were having breakfast we were surprised to see Smith and his entourage walk through the lobby and into a car outside; turns out we were staying at the same hotel.

Started Biutiful with my wife yesterday, will finish it today. Seems like a great movie. Never seen it before.
Watching Easy A alone now. Also my first time seeing it.

A bit disappointed with Easy A. It referenced the 80s teen comedies, but it didn’t have the charm or hunor of those movies.

The Town
Will watch that now, and then Black Swan and True Grit in the next couple of days to finish 2010.
Edit: starting Black Swan now, after finishing The Town. Should finish it and True Grit by the end of tomorrow.

The Firm. Got less interesting as it went plot-wise. Was alright though.
