Watch the Weird Al movie instead. It's kinda cute.

Don't Worry Darling. I agree with the consensus that it's the script that sinks it. It's filled with interesting images and good performances. I kept wishing it took that extra step. It feels very surface level. Everyone saw the twist coming hundreds of miles away, so they could've used that framing as an opportunity to explore some darker, more disturbing imagery or depictions of hellish suburban captivity

I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

The Banshees of Inisherin - This was a treat. Farrell is so good in these insecure, earnest roles.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone - Parts of this was an Anders watch due to some work distractions, but i've seen it like 12 times so who cares. I still think it's a very good introduction to the series. Of course it's more geared toward children than the following films, as were the books. I still maintain Daniel Radcliffe was pretty bad, and whoever played Ron (Tim McJim, maybe?) wasn't horrible outside of his facial expressions. Still the casts in these movies are top notch.

You should watch the Weird Al movie to contemplate Radcliffe's freaky neck.

I bought my first 4K UHD blu-ray--Mulholland Drive--and am going to give that a spin after I finish Succession.
