Don't get a producer. Just get some damn fine engineers, and focus your goals.

yaaayy!!!There's a song called "Sirens" that I think is one of the best songs on the record. That clocks in around five minutes...
awwww........which is long pop song.
Well that's great, 'cus now you will!scrub12 wrote:Considering not much has come out from PJ regarding the tracklist, he probably wasn't going to at much as they may be keeping it under wraps. He didn't even know if "Infallable" was still the name of the song.
I can't say I know of many 5 minute pop songs.
He specifically said multiple times that he would leave it up to the band to talk about specific songs. So I'm not sure you can really too much into that. However, for those fearing we get Backspacer Part 2, he didn't really say enough to dispel any of those fears. So I'm sure there'll be plenty of nervous nellies around here until 10/15.EJ wrote:He certainly didn't come off as enthused when discussing the album or even mentioning trying new things. Of course, there could be some kind of lame hush protocol right now as no one in the band has discussed specific songs. Nor have they released the final tracklist. But, we have to assume its been finalized though - even Judd Apatow already has a copy of it.
are those just guesses about where they will be on the album?bluestate wrote:5 out of 12... now we're finally getting somewhere, right?![]()

Great insights into the man behind the wondrous sonic sculpting!I do know that for whatever reason, the songs weren't there previously. And we kind of had to wait for the songs to come. I don't know if that's any better or worse. Certainly not worse, but I don't know if it was any better for the time off. But it certainly worked out great. I can't complain about it
The promise of great depth on the new record! How does the sound of this record compare to the previous one?
I'm terrible at stuff like that.

Whatever this is!This record has a few songs that have a bit more of a . . . they kind of . . . what's the word I'm looking for here? They're longer. [Laughs] I don't know if the word "depth" is right
I like Pearl Jam, and I like this, too! We'd start at noon and say, "What have you got?" and we'd start working. We'd never do that now. That's for young people.
And an honest look at the impact of the band's solo efforts! It's my job to help them put out a record where people say, "Oh, them. I love Pearl Jam! I'd forgotten how much I liked them. I like this stuff, too."
It means they can go work on their own and then come back and be really reinvigorated. Do you feel that way?
Um, yeah, sure. [Laughs]
So, no?
