It's just that this is something I bet most people wouldn't have much of an ethical concern about, and surely for many politicians past and present something like this is standard operating procedure. Trump sucks for so many reasons, but this is very low on that list.

I think you left out the part where he was already serving a 12 year sentence, the part about a biased prosecution and judge does seem similar

And in both cases I took the time to look up, the former candidate that was indicted is in power again... though I'd say one was likely targeted bc of his party and his opponent being in power only to be exonerated. And one is trying to stack the court to get his charges thrown out as we speak, hence the massive protests against him.
