It's just a little offputting to hear Lisa Simpson say "sonuvabitch" in a southern accent.

I love how, instead of going with a tank, or a humvee, or even a fucking jeep, Stephen King went with this:
That's the big baddie. A gun on a pole.
That's what confidence in a director's chair looks like.

All morning I've kept an extra watchful eye on every big rig I walked by. I can feel them watching me, with murder on their truck minds.

Keep in mind that our heroes have one of these:
It fires unlimited rockets. They are never in any remote danger, yet they keep dying.

it looks like some of the stills from maximum overdrive might be super nintendo chalmers tumblr material, by virtue of their existence in a visual medium

How did they get away with a Green Goblin truck? Did Marvel just not give a shit about intellectual property rights in those days?
When it dies in the end, I felt sympathy for it. There it is, a good 100 yards away. It can't possibly hurt the humans. They are already on the sailboat. But then that fuckwad Emilio Estevez pulls out his Rocket Launcher of Infinite Rockets +5000 and shoots it for fun. Despicable.
