Had an ominous shit at the hotel before a 6 hour drive home today. My favorite pizza place is at the midway point of the drive. It’s the part of the trip I was most looking forward to. Threw caution to the wind and ordered my usual toppings - pep, sausage, and jalapeños. While I was waiting, I shit at the restaurant. Felt okay driving but was feeling tired and grabbed a coffee an hour out. We had to go out of the way to pickup the dog, but I didn’t think I’d make it so ten minutes from home I told my wife we needed to go home first. As soon as I verbalized that thought, my body must have created a false sense of relief. I made it home and absolutely Dumb and Dumbered it when I did, but man, I hate the way my body lets down its guard when it senses home. I’ve almost shit my pants more than once walking the dog because I was within a block of home.

I had a similar episode to daft’s yesterday, though it was while making a couple stops within walking distance of home, so my sphincter’s home base sensor remained activated the whole time. I used the guest bathroom as it’s closest to the front door.
