Also, I'm remembering that Brooklyn does a good Brown ale, and Sixpoint did a Brownstone (not sure if that's still running or if it was a limited release).

The Brownstoner is a seasonal thing, I think. I see it from time to time but not with real regularity. It's fucking good, though.

Did you ever have the Diesel? It was a black IPA/stout. I think they've stopped making it but it was absolute favorite for a while.

Yep, used to get that one regularly in the winter. We were right around the corner from the Union Market in Cobble Hill, they were always stocked with the entire Sixpoint line.

ok. so there's one (of 2) beer i've never cared for -- the black ipa (the other being any hefeweizen).

Looking at their website, there are a ton of cyclical cans I haven't ever tried. That's fun. Still have a shit ton to discover from that brewery.

Have you had any of the legendary German ones, like Ayinger or Schneiderweisse?! Those are delicious, and put most US Hefes to shame.

I've had 3 or 4 different black IPA's and really enjoyed all of them.
