I imagine that "smaller" moment is going to come after the big battle we're all anticipating. Ramsay's not known as a great warrior, so he's probably not going to be leading his forces into battle like Jon will--by the time time the Starks + loyalists gain a victory, they'll probably take him prisoner and decide what to do with him. They're already setting up that Jon and Sansa are going to be at odds in some way (due to her lying to him already), but I don't think it's clear yet what that'll be. Will one of them want to kill him, the other to simply throw him in the dungeon? Will Sansa want to torture him like he tortured her? Will Jon be more or less willing to send Ramsay to the nothingness that is death after he's been there himself? A lot of this will be determined by what happens to Rickon, I think--if he's alive when it's all said and done, then he's the Lord of Winterfell now. If he dies, then Sansa's next in line, presumably, and would get to make decisions like this over Jon.durdencommatyler wrote:Ned's death.Mecca wrote:but seriously, i'm pretty sure it alternates between shocking moment (ned's death) and battle (Blackwater)
Blackwater.
Red Wedding.
Battle of the Wall

Battle of Hardhome.
We're due for something smaller, I'd say. Also, the Red Wedding, though much more in line with what I'm talking about was still pretty BLOOD GUTS REVENGE YELLING BLOOD FUCK YAY. So each team gets half a point for that one.
By my tally that means it's 1.5 to 3.5 in favor of brahs.

I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Hardhome was episode 8, I think. Episode 9 was Shireendurdencommatyler wrote:Ned's death.Mecca wrote:but seriously, i'm pretty sure it alternates between shocking moment (ned's death) and battle (Blackwater)

I'd appreciate that.durdencommatyler wrote:I'd love for this years Ep 9 to break mold and be as anti-brah, go-go-big-bad-battle-violence-MEN-YES as possible. I'd love a quite episode with a genuinely heartfelt moment (whether its shocking or terrifying or beautiful).
Something like that is what I'm hoping for. I need some character driven drama in there. A battle against Ramsay has not a single bit of “the human heart in conflict with itself” as GRMM likes to say what is it that he likes to write about. It's a battle of pure evil against good and I'm not very interested in that and it's not what makes Game of Thrones great to me. The big battles before (Blackwater, The Wall) had characters we like on both sides (Davos, Ygritte) and you could make a good case for both sides of the battle. So I really hope there's more to this battle awaiting us.Simple Torture wrote:

There's speculation in some corners that Sansa's pregnant, but I'm not too keen on it yet.

Ramsay is a stupid villain anyway, so at least I'm happy when he's dead.

Why is that funny? I think most people this season has had great character-driven drama.tragabigzanda wrote:Funny, I think this season has had some of the best character-driven drama in recent memory. Don't get me wrong, I'm only talking about the potential battle and not the season as a whole. Sansa taking down Ramsay is something I'd find really satisfying as well.tragabigzanda wrote:Funny, I think this season has had some of the best character-driven drama in recent memory.
