Tonight, I'm gonna try my hand at grilling a flat iron steak. Neither of us have ever had this cut, and I'm excited to try it. Along with that, lobster tails and roasted purple passion potatoes (which we've never had).

Damn! The purple potatoes are REALLY purple! They look like mini beets only more purple. Hope they taste good.

It's translucent, so it can be a little tough to see if you're not used to it. Would look like snot if you pulled at it with the edge of a knife.

Yeah, I can see just a hint of an edge of it where it looks like it was trimmed.
Already got the rub on. Potatoes in the oven. Waiting on Mrs Wease to get and throw it on the grill.

My wife just told me she's making some bowtie pasta tonight. With sausage and peppers tossed in and a heavy green salad on the side. Pretty fucking psyched about that, team.

Potatoes are fork tender and the steak is resting. My fear is I've overcooked it. It looks delicious, tho. I really hit the note with the rub this time.

Steaks were perfect temp. Very much enjoyed this cut. We'll be getting it again.
