I've got to cop to being under-informed on the Saudis vs ISIL narrative. I wasn't necessarily trying to state that this was definitively a US-Russia job (even though that's exactly how my post reads); was just trying to make the point that there are a number of other narratives I'd believe before I buy into the "Assad attacked his people and Trump responded with swift justice" story. But your alternative theory is just as good as any.

Yes, and John Oliver made a great (if obvious) point that we should all be very worried that a President who thrives on positive press just got his first real round of applause for launching some missiles.

Any complaints from trump about the media in that situation?

Strange that these same outlets that had knives out for him are congratulating him on what was an utterly pointless and ineffective strike.

Interestingly, (famous/fallen news anchor) Brian Williams was taken to task by just about everybody for his heaping praise on the situation.
