I took advantage of that d23 thing and paid for three years of D+. I figure the savings are significant enough that it'll continue to be a good deal even in 2022.

Those are both old. It has been confirmed that the IG droid we see in the trailer (played by Taika Waititi) is NOT IG88. It's IG11.
Goddamn you to hell.
I think it'll end up being a cool move and a source of a lot humor in the show. I'm all for it. But it does temper expectations, for me. Clearly, JF wanted to make a certain show and CLEARLY Lucasfilm has tamped that down. Putting the pieces together it's clear what JF wanted versus what we're getting.
Doesn't mean the show will be less than. I still think it'll be a great ride.

It would be different if Favreau hadn't specifically said 88 would be in it.
Let me tell you, Homer Simpson is cock of nothing!

He also said Boba Fett would specifically be in it.
His original treatment was for characters we all know. Lucasfilm put the kibosh on it.
But just imagine IG11 being confused for IG88 throughout the whole series and how much that could be funny. I love the idea of their being a rivalry between them and IG11 hating that everyone thinks he's a different droid. Much humor and character to mine there.
This show is going to be the evolution of "animation." It's going to look so weird at first and then become standard. Honestly, if they could make an animated Ahsoka show look this good, I'd be over the moon.
Just thinking about that. They main reason you’ll probably never see Ahsoka live action is the fanbase are fuckin devoted to Ashley Eckstein and if it isn’t her playing Ahsoka they’ll riot.
And it really can’t be her

I don’t even know who that is. Let whoever they can get play her as long as she’s there.

I've heard others say the same thing and I just disagree. I can only speak for myself, but as a huge Ahsoka fan, I don't want Eckstein to play her. I want to see her in live action and I want someone else to play the part. I just don't think it needs to be her at all.
I think the real reason you won't see her in live action is Dave Filoni.
