Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

Yeah, he does super micro-budget indie films. And he focuses largely on improv. So, he's able to crank them out. But they're all high quality, I think. Drinking Buddies is definitely his best. So far.

It's weird. And offensive in unexpected ways. It's not a documentary that deals with the facts and the events as much as it's a discussion of the media, and the inherent flaws in the system. But not in the way we've seen in Making a Murderer or even Serial. This is different and troubling. But if you're looking for insight on the event, the murder. Or if you're looking to explore facts of the case, this is absolutely not the documentary for you.

So this is a true story. My da is still in the Irish army and UN peacekeeping force. Must ask him about this.

Has anyone here watched Never Been Thawed?

Effectively the first "Netflix original", from 2005, before Netflix was a streaming service

It looks fascinating

Santa Clarita Diet is pretty OK, but I am 100% positive that that is only because Timothy Olyphant is the most charming actor alive.

I could only watch like 5 minutes of that. It was sad.

Yeah, you have to be in love with Timothy Olyphant to get through it. It's not painfully bad, but without him I wouldn't touch it

That's pretty much the reason I enjoyed the trailer.

Awww...

What about Crazyhead? Wife saw a trailer for it and (shocking for her) thought it looked funny.

They are dropping Buffy, Angel and X-Files in April. Pretty much everything I'm watching on Netflix.
