I'm quitting drinking indefinitely. My wife could give birth anytime now and I don't want to be drunk or hungover for any of it. I will be driving her to the hospital. Also, I want to be healthier for the baby, cause it's going to be exhausting and I'm going to need energy.

This place may be lying about the alcohol content of their beers. I should be feeling pretty fucking good after 4 pints of 8%+ ABV beers.

At least you know that, and you recognize it. I’m proud of you for stepping away from the boozing and putting fatherhood first. Being a Dad is the best. I was drinking heavily the years my first two were born, and I wish I would’ve been more present. I figured out my drinking issues and would consider myself a great dad now, and for the last 8-9 years (long enough that my kids don’t remember differently), but I regret being kind of a drunk those early years. I know I could have been better. I’m glad you are preventing something similar happening to you. I promise it will be totally worth it.
