How long is it?
I'm not a good judge of time. I've heard story and some side stuff is around 20 hours. Another 10 hours or so if you do all the collectibles. Sounds like the perfect length for that type of game.

That's when FF started sucking in my opinion. The voice acting is abysmal. Apparently I only enjoy JRPGs when it's text based.

I just mute the voice acting. It's never been my thing either. The story is good though, great characters, and the grid system for leveling up is awesome. Look at all the games that now use a grid system now. It was a huge influence on a lot of future RPG's.
The remaster for PC and PS4 includes a accelerated option to breeze through cut-scenes and help push through those times you need to grind for levels too.
To me, it's the last FF game that wasn't total shit.

You can do this without messing with sound effects and music? I might actually give it a spin after all.
