i think some business person who was in or was near someone who went to asia visited there and didn't know they had it and now they all have it

sounds like this thing can lie dormant and you dont feel sick but are contagious

the WHO had modeled a 1 person -> infects 2.5 people model so this could now be the 2nd derivative effect we are seeing

The outbreak near Milan appears to have taken off once a 38-year-old man who hadn’t traveled to China got sick, according to officials. He visited an emergency room several times with respiratory problems over the past week, but no special measures were taken and he was initially sent home with antibiotics because he wasn’t considered to be at risk.

Several people at the hospital, including some health workers, caught the virus, as did a number of people who frequented a bar where the 38-year-old had been. He is now at a hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Health officials said they are still looking for the person who passed the virus to the 38-year-old. They suspect a friend of his who returned to Italy from China in late January, but didn’t show symptoms or get sick, according to Italian press reports.
