Dr. Van Nostrand wrote:I think my current favorite part on the whole album is from 3:58 to about 4:30 on this song.
I'm hoping the part around 3:55 allows the band to fiddle around live a bit and then build up into the what remains in the area you pointed it out. Love the whole song, but definitely love it from the middle part onward.

The first few seconds it goes from sounding like a fast live version of Not For You to Far Behind to Surrender by Cheap Trick

I like the handclaps in the right channel around the 4:20 mark.

This is still my favorite song on the album. What an opener!

hey I was just listening to "Rockin in the Free World" from 92, and it gave me similar vibes to this; this song may have Uncle Neil influence as well as The Who

This sounds so much better now that we've got the official version. I just knew that this would be one of the songs that would benefit from the fairly poor quality leak.

I really like this song but the intro is starting to make me laugh.
mysterious ambient sounds
single out of place bass note
limp guitar
It's like the part up to and including the bass note was made for the teaser video of the test pressing and then the real song starts. It sounds really good from :28 onwards, though.

that is where it kicks into gear, but I do like the guitar build up even though limp is not entirely unfair.

I didn’t love the extended detour this song takes as it’s bridge I guess?
But now I do and kinda wish it was it’s own song.

This is the kind of urgent, passionate rock opener that GSMF and Getaway could only dream of being. So catchy and well-constructed. One of my favorites.

Funny you say that. I can hear loads of getaway in here. I even wondered was it intentional

I'm not even really saying that I don't like it. It's charmingly weird but just a little bit unintentionally funny to me. The only real negative is that the intro is quite similar to Getaway guitarsound-wise.

They're in the same musical vein for sure, but this is much, much better and more dynamic as a composition.
