committed, on fire, almost desperate. those sentiments don't match "i'm JA and i'm 57."
they brought it.
Absolutely
Name another "rock" song by a band 30 years in, with the guys all in their 50's, that grooves that hard and sounds that lively and unhinged. There might even be one, so let me know, but this has to be way up there.
does Iron Maiden count? just saw their last tour and they are fucking ripping it into their 60's
Good call Vindicator. I'm not super well-versed in Maiden, but I have a couple of friends who are die hards who insist their output is still top notch.

Gets better with each listen. Mike’s work during the outro sounds very reminiscent of mad season.

Yep and the distortion in the verse vocals is perfect.

48+ hours later, still thinking this might be an all time song for me. Love the whole thing, but yeah, that last minute is a “wow” moment.

Matt's fucking fill to end the song is just sublime. Some nice ones before it also.

This song reminds me a lot of Safe in the Car.

It would be a huge missed opportunity if this song was not released to the radio as the next single.

This is kind of what I imagined/hoped that muffled soundcheck recording of Infallible would turn out to be.

With a more inspired vocal melody from Ed.

I went through the weirdest phase with this song, where I was disappointed that everything was so noisy and grungy, aesthetically, but structurally and melodically it seemed to follow a more blues / rock and roll pattern (except the chorus, really, so mainly the verses); and the two styles seemed to jar
and then I remembered that PJ has always dressed up rock and roll and blues as "grunge" ("Alive" did that)
and then I remembered that, of course, Led Zeppelin is famous for doing exactly this (fusing rock n roll and blues with the heavier rock and metal of their day)
and now I have no issues with "Quick Escape" whatsoever

I've read quite a few times opinions about this being a zep influenced one. Anyone else think they could master a No Quarter cover? One can only hope it will eventually happen? Im not a huge zep fan anymore but im a huge fan of that song live and would pay big bucks to see a pj show if i knew they were going to cover that song. I'll see them again anyway, of course.
