He was a very good running back on a very bad offense last season

267 for 950 with a 3.6 average? That puts him in the lower half for everything but attempts.

I don't doubt that he can be better in the Colt's offense, but if you're Cleveland, you jump.

Hmm didn't realize his stats were like that. From what I've seen of him playing, those stats don't match my impressions of him

Just crazy that they traded away Richardson, how does an all around running back not fit?

You think Richardson isn't worth a first? I thought Indy hosed the browns
I honestly like what the Browns did. They obviously don't value Trent like some. I mean, backs come out of later rounds all the time. What has he done that warrants a 1st? Sure he's serviceable, but if I'm Cleveland, I laugh and say, "okay, Jim," and lol.
Fuckin chud
because he has talent??

Probably works for both teams. I'm not convinced yet Richardson is trancendent but now he's playing with likely the best young QB in the game. The Browns have yet again urinated on ticket holders for this season, and they don't have a track record of wisely spending picks but 2 gives them a better chance than one eh?

Irsay is drunk, but Richardson should help them in the scoring zone as he is a competent threat. Giving that QB weapons is smart, and it should help soon. Imagine the thrill if you are TRichardson.

It's pretty clear that the new Browns regime wants to blow everything up, start all over and do it their own way (again). I wouldn't be surprised if Weeden gets traded/cut soon as well. Unfortunately, this is why the Browns have sucked for so long, because they've had so much front office turmoil.

I think the Colts got a good deal. Probably not Faulk/Bettis good but still good. It's really rare when a #3 overall guy comes on the market in only his second year.

yeah, it's a great deal for the colts. even if richardson is not up to expectations, a first half fist rounder is something of a crapshoot, let alone a second half first rounder if the colts play like they did last year

what sorta pisses me off, as a football fan, is that the browns' d is actually pretty good, and this trade just fucking eliminates their chances of riding that D to a competitive season/the chances for that D to make the NFL a more entertaining league.

Maybe the plan is to move to LA and win a championship 8 years later?

Pretty rare to see a big move like this in the NFL during the regular season. I was shocked.

But, after thinking about it, it was probably a good move for the Browns. His trade value would've plummeted the next time he had a big injury. Sucks for the Browns fans though. He was the only spark plug on that team.

Injury-prone running back on an offense that's going nowhere with or without him for a first round pick? Yeah I'll take that.

What bothers me most is how much of a waste the 2012 draft was for this team, at least in the first round. Everyone knew Weeden wouldn't be any good, and he isn't. And they traded up to get Richardson who is already out of here.

Let's see how the team looks in 2-3 years when there's a new GM and coach in town.

if there's a new gm in 2-3 years this team is going to be fucked. the way the front office is working, 2-3 is when they should be getting good.

i think the trade works out for both teams. the colts have 2 rb's they can use w/ richardson and bradshaw, and the browns get a pick for the future.

Madden wouldn't even left me trade a first round pick for Trent Richardson, that's how bad this trade is.
