I still can’t figure out why it sparked. The screw isn’t attached to any of the wiring or anything.

Is messing around with electrics something you guys do regularly in the US? I've seen a few posts over the years about DIY electrical works and can never understand why you'd do that.

Electricity kills people. Leave it to the professionals I say.

The only part I was doing anything with doesn’t have any current. I wasn’t getting into the wiring or anything. Just a couple of screws.
