You will be disappointed, then, methinks
My prediction -
28 songs full of staples, plus that I Got You song from the New Zealand band

I'm expecting the sets to be a few songs shorter than most of the US Leg 1 shows with slightly more focus on the hits (ie. Better Man, Black, Alive, Daughter, Given to Fly and Do the Evolution most nights) and Sonic Reducer/Kick Out the Jams with Mudhoney.
That sounds pretty great to me. Frankly, I'd much prefer a two-hour hits/classics-heavy set with a handful of deteors than a three-hour marathon through the band's deeper catalogue.

I don't know. I wouldn't like a concert full of Ten, it's far from my favorite PJ.

I think Spenno's right. It's probably not going to be a "fan"concert. A decent percentage of the audience are going to be part-time fans or
people kids that are new to PJ. I think PJ will probably focus on their new album (i.e. to push sales to the part-time/new fans) and also focus on their most accessible/well known hits (i.e. all the early singes and staple setlist songs).
Time will tell, I'm looking forward to seeing the set lists appear. All the best for the shows guys, enjoy!

Mine either, that isn't quite what I meant.
I was referring more to what I think of as the band's "standards": Even Flow, Black, Alive, Jeremy, Go, Animal, Daughter, Small Town, Better Man, Corduroy, Hail Hail, Given to Fly, Do the Evolution, Wishlist, Last Kiss etc.

i think there's a difference between 'hits' and 'classics'. jeremy is a hit, given to fly is a classic.

There's a very blurred line between those two definitions.
I think it's more a case that both are classics, but one was more popular than the other at the time of release (mainly due to the relevance/population of PJ at the time).

Looks like your standard festival setlist to me, minus some songs that got cut (Alive, SBM, Know Your Rights, Got Some and is it DTE?). Habit would be fun to see, and Footsteps is always a winner. Otherwise, pretty ho hum setlist, IMO. I can see how first timers would really dig something like this, but I honestly wonder how the band can't be bored to tears cranking one of these out for the millionth time. How about a club tour of Australia featuring deep cuts? How about taking the usual Hits 'N' Classics setlist to, I don't know, India or the Middle East just to change things up? Something to challenge themselves musically, get out of the comfort zone for a moment.

I would have loved to be at that show based on the set. Anyone know how they actually sounded?

Me too.
I don't think playing new material alongside the hits and standards is necessarily evidence of not challenging themselves (whatever that means) or staying in a comfort zone.
Two hours, most of the classics, a few surprises; I might substitute a few choices but that's the kind of set I'd prefer to see the band playing more often.

They branched out a
bit on the recent tour, but for the most part, this seems like it could be the core of
nearly any set they've done in the last five years or so.

Well, yeah.
Basically I think Pearl Jam shows should be shorter with less variety.

Unless you are at a show where all the pieces are falling into place and the band is spot on! It happens occasionally!

Good news for those who manage, by sheer luck, to attend those handful of consistent shows on each tour!
Everyone else is shit out of luck, sorry.

They were on fire last night. Everything sounded great from where I was, and Ed sounded a lot better than he did in 009 Fair bit of crowd interaction too
