Banh mi and po boys share the same type of bread. They also have roots as a staple of the working class and have never been expensive to make, so they should never be expensive to purchase. Unless you're upgrading them with quality local ingredients that are more expensive for a restaurant to stock. Like the heritage pork belly banh mi I overpaid for on this page.

See the food forum price index thread for what the average price of a banh mi should be, give or take your local economy.

In general, how many slices of deli meat (sliced to sandwich thinner thickness) do you put on a sandwich?
