i think all this entertainment industry sexual assault stuff is problematic for a generation of progressives because they have been raised to believe that banks are the source of all of the world's problems and that the role of government is to punish the finance industry and anyone failing to attempt to destroy banks is complicit in societal oppression.

this is a potentially serious problem

on the one hand, U.S. banking is one of the most tightly-regulated industries on the planet, but on the other hand; bankers are evil rich something something and must be punished because women, the environment and stuff

but on the other hand, now there is this other trillion dollar industry that is based almost entirely on physical appearance that appears to be a hotbed for rape, sex crimes, body shaming, gender inequality, and all these other things that HuffPo says are bad; and it's becoming really tough to be able to continue to focus solely on blaming banks as the problem

but i have faith that progressives will continue to carry the torch

the rally cry of progress cannot be lost: "no, don't look there - look over here instead". we will need to remain steadfast and avoid focusing on other entirely unregulated industries that do little to advance mankind and where civil rights are optional. we must remain focused instead on laying waste to those rich, sexist bastards on wall street who are poisoning the something something women's rights thing environment something
