well
The thing is, we want a change. A big one.Superblood Wolfmoon wrote:Some of these drummer suggestions make me wonder if some of you have actually ever listened to music before. Steve Gorman? Love the guy so much and saw TBC too many times to count, but as a fit for Pearl Jam? It’s just not his kind of swing at all.
The bulk of PJ’s material at this point was played on by Matt. You’re going to need someone with his stamina and chops every night on stage. It will likely not be a household name but someone younger, like Foo Fighters and now Rush have done.
I wouldn't necessarily use Matt and "chops" together in a sentenceSuperblood Wolfmoon wrote:Some of these drummer suggestions make me wonder if some of you have actually ever listened to music before. Chad Smith would be niceBirds in Hell wrote:Do "we"?
It's doubtful these guys have some big creative push ahead of them.
I'd say they're going to want someone who has the physical endurance to be on the road whenever needed, can play all of the catalogue comfortably, and isn't a dickhead to be around.
Going by past behaviour, they're also unlikely to pick someone without a previous connection with the band.
I'd be ecstatic with Matt Chamberlain and totally fine with Rich Stuverud.

How about consecutive sentences that express the same sentiment, i.e “I miss Matt. He had drumming chops.” Or in non-drum related scenarios, like if we hear a good story about him eating cut pork loin, doing karate, or working as a lumberjack?Ms Harmless wrote:I wouldn't necessarily use Matt and "chops" together in a sentenceSuperblood Wolfmoon wrote:Some of these drummer suggestions make me wonder if some of you have actually ever listened to music before.
