OH man.
Play the CD, start a fire in the background, and play a different record on your turntable with the sound turned off. Then flush $300 down the toilet.

It's the best. The Stone songs on Yield and Binaural are grossly under appreciated outside of the more devoted fanbase. That was a great stretch for his writing.

I've been throwing in some memories and observations on these albums as I look at the threads, and a few things still stick out to me on Binaural:
1) The first time I heard Nothing As It Seems, which was from the '99 Bridge School Benefit bootleg recording, my hair stood on end, I was totally slack jawed, and pasted to the back of my chair. In that moment, it might have been the most amazing thing I'd ever heard the band do (maybe outside the Milwaukee '95 Little Wing/Maggot Brain cover which was real killer).
2) Watching the Seattle DVD from 2002, after the four slower songs, when they bust into Breakerfall, it just feels like the whole room is shaking...my living room that is...every time.
3) I have found that I don't really enjoy Thin Air that much, and I think much of that has to do with the fact that Pearl Jam is really terrible at playing it live.
4) Of the Girl might be one of the coolest songs in all the Pearl Jam catalogue, and its songs like this, Sleight Of Hand, Nothing As It Seems and Parting Ways that really define the album for me despite all the rockers on this album (Breakerfall, Gods Dice, Evacuation, Grivance, Rival, Insignificance, etc.). I do enjoy almost all of this album.

I used to dislike this record for many reasons the biggest reason was production, the other why the original track listing didn't make the final cut, and because I had an awful year in 2000. However very recently I found this album very interesting to listen, it has its moments. My favorite songs are Breakerfall, Rival, Soon Forget, Of the Girl and Grievance.

I really can't get myself to care about in the moonlight at all. I've tried a few times since a few people whose opinions I really respect seem to stand by this as a great song.

It's okay but it doesn't really blow my socks off either.

The live, Josh Homme version got me interested in the song again, but otherwise I agree.

I don't hate it, mind you. It's just kind of there.
