Been messing around with different techniques and brushes and things for making backgrounds. Trying to speed up without making them look too bad.

So how do you put together a page like that? Are you doing the drawing and then running it thru some sort of filter or something. 3-D modeling? Bring us into the process.

Most of these are a digital painting in Photoshop over a basic 3D block-out. i find that making detailed 3D models makes things harder to paint over, so I try to keep them as simple boxes with holes punched in for doors and windows now. I rarely use filters except to blur or sharpen edges. I spent a lot of time making brushes to mimic traditional painting, but photoshop's brush engine is kinda outdated and frustrating. Still haven't found the perfect settings yet.

That reminds me of Scurry 1.

Will Image be publishing?

This is a kickstarter one. They'll probably do another one when I finish a few.

Do you get more money from the Kickstarter or thru a deal with a publisher like Image?

I get more from Kickstarter, and a decent amount from foreign rights. I kinda think of US traditional book publishing as advertising. That's about all I get out of it.

Will there be a big box that fits the 4 hardcovers plus slipcovers? I didn't see it as an add on. Geesh.

No I'm not doing that again! One book and one slipcover.

I hope a stretch goal is an action figure.
