oh give me a break. it's shockingly easy not to treat people like shit.
I thought so too. But apparently we're wrong.
You people must have been treated extremely well throughout your lives to consider what happened in that split second being treated as shit.
I've never been treated like that in public, no. I would fall out with anyone who treated me like that in front of 17000 people.
I'm just saying that isn't as big of a deal on a relative scale. I'm not defending what Ed did even though he didn't do it just for the sake of it, it was still a childish thing to do but still there are so many worst ways of humiliating someone in public or in that same context that i just don't get the outrage.
what the fuck are you trying to say! They're right, you aren't making any sense. who gives a shit if there are worse ways to treat people? make some sense!!!!!

Can people stop typing 'worst' when they mean 'worse', please. Fuck!

The only outrage is coming from people trying to defend the action. It was a shitty, childish, mean-spirited thing to do. No one wants him thrown in jail, kicked out of Pearl Jam, or to issue a public apology. This would have died off days ago and just turned into a meme if it weren't for people vehemently defending/excusing his actions.

you must have experienced some disturbingly horrible treatment in your life to consider treating another human being like that as ok. You have my pity.

Some moderating on internet forums can be a good thing, but at the pit it's more like censorship. It's well in their rights, but even though I'm a well behaved guy, it prevents me from wanting to post there.

There seems to be some outrage over other people's level of outrage, so I made this outrageous chart as a handy guide to measure one's own level of outrage. Perhaps you can use this chart to judge whether I am underoutraged, overoutraged, or outraged just right.

* bolded is my current level of outrage.

outrage level 0: "whatever"
outrage level 1: "Well I for one am mildly disappointed."
outrage level 2: "wow, what a douchebag. I think less of him now"
outrage level 3: "I hope that fucker loses his job!"
outrage level 4: "put that motherfucker in jail!"
outrage level 5: "and throw away the key!"
outrage level 6: "Prison is too good for him! die!die!die!die!die!die!
outrage level 7: "kill him slowly. very slowly!"
outrage level 8: "make his life an unending hell"
outrage level 9: "make his life an unending hell, wipe out his entire family, and erase all records of his existence."
outrage level 10: "destroy the human race and start over."
