Thanks Pete.

I was listening to their two albums this morning. I definitely prefer the first one. I actually like the music more on the second (esp. for generals), but I think she sounds better on the first album, and she's obviously the heart of this band.

Yeah, at the end of the day I probably prefer the first album too. But it's a really close call.

This is where we wait for Lament to give his thoughts.

What We Lose in the Fire We Gain in the Flood is the first. It's more folksy with a motown feel at times.
Generals is second and it's very different from the first album. Broader instrumentation, heavier beats, studio trickery, etc.
I probably prefer the first but they're both excellent and it's a very close call. Kevin Davis has written some beautiful words about this band.

If you like these I'll then send you my Awesome Mynabirds Mix which combines their two daytrotter sessions with a few non album b-sides.

I hope you can do it ala Lament style, and make it a real mix-tape.

I'd give it all for a legacy of love.

Give It Time from the first Daytrotter session might be my favorite thing this band has ever done.

I still can't listen to 'Mightier than the Sword' without bawling my eyes out.
