Yeah i think we've talked about that site before. I'm taking a trip to Newfoundland in a couple of weeks and I might use that site for my shots.

This is the CD with my pic. They ended up using it 4 times in the packaging (Cover, CD, underneath the plastic thingy behind the CD and on the centerfold of the linear notes). When they sent me the sample CD, I asked them why they used such an ugly font and sent them a redesigned cover with a custom font. I also re-imaged the photo. They liked what I did and tried to have it changed, but it was too late for this "pressing." If their is a second pressing, they'll use my design.

I have a photo illustration I'm doing for a different label. I'm actually not sure if it's for a CD or some other promotional use. I signed a non-disclosure agreement, so I can't say what artist or label it's for, but once it's released, I'll post it.

Frustrating for sure. At least it wasn't Comic Sans? You can't help bad design choices by other parties and I guess that you're not in a position to dictate those things to the client.

Well, I'm a designer by trade and offered to design the cover for a small fee when they first bought the photo. They declined and said the label had an in-house designer who was "top-notch". Then they sent me the sample CD and I wanted to puke. It's frustrating because it was the first photo I sold and wanted to be able to show off the CD to friends and family, but I'm not showing that shit to anybody.

How was the treatment of the image throughout the rest of the design? You said it was used multiple times so maybe there's something salvageable there?
