:haha:

I hate it when that happens! Ah well. Still an awesome table. You just need a bigger room now. ;)

And a real reminder that if your working from the underside, keep an eye on the wood...otherwise you end up with two very different looking halves...

Nice work!

Some things I've been cranking out.

This one is my new pride and joy - Sterling band with gypsy set stones. This ring style is going into production and should be available more towards the fall.

Thanks! This week I'm not working on my own pieces. Boo. I had a resize on a ring and now I'm working on two pendant settings. Sometimes they take a bit longer than I'd like, but ah well.

The stone for pendant #1.

It's big. The setting is in the tumbler getting shiny. I'll set it later today. I was told this was a morganite, but another jeweler suggested to me that it's probably a topaz.

It took me 4 tries to get the second pendant put together. Ugh. Not sure what the problem was, but I melted a bunch of shit before I had success. I was up til midnight finishing it because he needs them today.

Yep. They're huge stones. He picked them up for $12 each. The one pictured can retail for $2K.

I have a bunch of stuff put together to start that drag queen line of pieces, Dime! Dichro glasses and found objects, etc. I even have a line on artist crafted glass eyeballs. 8-)

Wowsers. Well the one in the above pic sure looks like it'd cost that much. Great job!!

The problem with posting photos, sometimes, is that the client stops by earlier than when you're ready for them. I have one such issue, on instagram. I won't mention names. :-P

The guy these were set for is a local geologist. He picked up the stones for an amazing price in Arizona. The morganite is for his wife and the amethyst is for his daughter. Nice folks!

I have another turquoise ring to do like the ones above. These have all been going to a guy in Conifer, via a sales rep of sorts. Maybe I'll get around to that skull ring someday, but for now everyone seems to have plenty of work for me.

hey dj, while i was staying with my one of my sisters, i noticed her husband had a large pile of skids outside, so i asked him if he used them for making 'stuff' - (he's a carpenter but doesn't do much with it this days) - he said yeah and showed me some of the stuff he was working on...
it was pretty simplistic and honestly I didn't like much of it. however, it reminded me of how great most of your work has turned out so thought i'd tell you - you do a very nice job with everything I've seen of yours.

*tl;dr version - nice table, friend

Ah thanks!
my stuffs simplistic too, but if you finish them off with some stains n waxes, they have a lot more going for them i find.

i do this for fun, with a view to being professional. He's a carpenter by trade, last thing he wants is to get fiddly with finishing etc

So I made a big bed with some huge old timbers removed from the old house next door. Woods about 300 years old. Got some big 6 inch coach boots and went at it.

Had t take the shelf in and raise it though. Gonna find some cool lights for underneath the shelf and some old lanterns or mine lamps for the sides.

Still a bit of work to be done, but been working on this the past couple of weekends. Mrs Rangi wanted something to store our DVDs and blu-rays that could be closed - so I figured I'd make something

Looks great, Rangi. Is this a new hobby or have you done much in the past?
