I thought that sounded exactly like every other live version I've heard of this song, which I still hate.

the song is what it is. Too late to change that. What's done is done.

Is there anything that isn't what it is? I hope so.

I agree KD. Stone's tone was nice though. Everyone seemed into it except maybe Jeff. I almost didn't finish either song and was kind of left with a why bother feeling. Ah well. I'd prefer they did it than didn't.

Reality. So, in a sense, everything.

Was Colbert mocking Eddie's hairline?

These jokes are pretty lame. Even if he has some sort of hair plugs going on, how is that any different from grooming oneself with the intent to look good, putting on makeup, doing one's hair in a certain way, wearing expensive clothes that look good, etc. I don't see any significant difference.

I think that they did a good performance of MYM - the crunchier intro is mostly due to Mike playing an octave lower though. I don't know if that's what he usually does live nowadays, anyway, it's much better than the wimpy effect it has on record. Apart from that, I don't know what's so great about their guitar tones on this...maybe their guitar tones used to suck ass on their recent TV appearances, maybe the mix used to throw them all behind Ed's vocals, maybe both - all I'm trying to say is that their guitar tones aren't especially abrasive or crude or warm or cold - they're good but they're not "Wow WTF those guys are fucking mad" kinda tones. They surely aren't Vitalogy's.

Ed did a mightily fine job - he still can do it but maybe not for two hours with this kind of song. Also, a minus point here, when you do a fast rocker like this one, don't try to change the world with lyrics especially when your style doesn't include above average enunciation.

Someone from the 19th century might think otherwise...

That was actually surprisingly good, even the interview. We'll see how they sound on Saturday with a festival setlist of hits...
