what's the body count for the us's "war on terror" this year?
Seems like we're shooting missiles into Pakistan and Yemen with less frequency.

Public information appears to be hard to come by and contradictory, but it looks like yes.

A few hundred maybe as a result of direct action.

You might want to tag it as NSFW and put that link in a spoiler.

I do. That link has nothing terrible on it, other than the links to the terrible things.

a quick search on reddit and i found a picture of James Foley's remains.

it's disgusting. unfortunately, our allies (Saudi Arabia) do this to their own people. in public. so i'm very confused with our country's response.

What would you have them do?

i don't mean the fact that we have to work with the Saudi's (b/c we have no choice), but what i thought was confusing was this quote:
  • The president called the militants’ ideology “bankrupt” and not of “any value to human beings.”
i could see a response that gives more cover to our allies:

"although this is considered proper capital punishment in this part of the world, Jim Foley committed no crime against any state. let me be clear, ISIL is not recognized as a sovereign nation..." and then roll right into the "cancer" talk.

Yeah, we wouldn't want to hurt anybody's feelings or anything.
Capital punishment is a far cry from a terrorist group executing a hostage, a journalist no less, as part of some pathetic display of "power".
