Gun manufacturers are putting special state specific advisories on their websites. For instance, Ruger (who I was contacting for a service inquiry) has banners for both New York and Connecticut on their homepage. Why ban the gun when you can just make it trivially easy to be convicted of a felony for not complying with the byzantine regulations involved? That is the point after all, is it not? The object is to punish the wrong sort of people that buy guns. Making anyone safer is beside the point entirely.

the last place I want to be is driving next to a gun nut with a chip on his shoulder. Not going hiking this weekend, either. I was advised to wear bright orange, as it's the start of elk hunting season or something... Fuck that!

Based on energy potential the oversized truck he's riding in is of far greater risk to you than his deer/elk rifle. Also, why would you prance around like an elk during hunting season? Sounds like your problem, not everyone else's.

In honor of the new polling suggesting that the only demographics against relatively free gun ownership in the US are Hispanics and self described liberal progressives, I suggest this weird NRA fairly high production value youtube serial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNWGTj6 ... 34N99ZbhzQ Apparently the NRA has this shooting sports series featuring an internet celebrity, which is odd largely because they are going for mainstream sports journalism type coverage. I'm not sure that shooting things with friends requires a roundtable discussion after the fact, but who am I to judge.
