You've just touched on it. This will be the story to tie it all up. Rey finds out she's obi wans granddaughter. Means nothing to her. Then we see the story of how it happens in obi wans film.
Oh god. Its just going to be 2 hours of Obi Wan spreading his seed around the galaxy.

Why does obi wan speak to her in that vision ?

She has to be related to him somehow unless he just has a thing for waifs and strays.

She'll find out she's obi wans granddaughter in last Jedi. It will mean nothing to her.

We'll see what happened in his film. Calling it.

Obi wan is at least as important to the story and the saga as the skywalker lineage. He's central to it all. This is a perfect way to make it not just about that one bloodline.

Man he's in. I have three interviews saved him (not) talking about it. They came at him ages ago about this. And it's clear watching him dance around the question.

Him or no one.

I mean, I think JJ Abrams explained it pretty well when he talked about how Lightsabers hold memories. Which is also canon by the way. That's why Obi-Wan "speaks" to her in that vision.

Him or no one.

He can also age a bit without it jeopardizing the role

So a lightsaber or crystal can remember forward and know a girls name?

That's a stretch.

Are you high? Why on earth would you think none of us want an Obi-Wan film? We've all been talking about how badly we want this for months and months and months and months.

You really need to start reading threads, dime.

From my "insider" friend:
From what I've been told, (which could always change, of course) this will be an off-world adventure for Obi Wan.

He wasn't just sitting around for 20 years, watching over Luke.
He also mentioned that Joel Edgerton has expressed interest recently in returning a Owen Lars. :heartbeat:
